I'm Bringing Borders Back
Borders used to be very popular to paper crafters. I know when I started scrapbooking over 10 years ago you could get packs of borders of all different colors. I have to admit I haven't used them much in the last few years. Here's a tip for storage! I found this idea several years ago somewhere online. Probably on one of the many blogs I used to read. Whoever you are, THANK YOU! I keep all of my borders, strips, and anything that is long and skinny in this handy tube. It hangs next to the desk so I have easy access.
To make this page I used several different styles and colors of borders. I layered them as shown below. Then using white cardstock I matted my 4x6 prints and added a few embellishments. I completed the page with a white stitched border using my Uniball Gel pen.

You can make this easily with just a paper towel tube, some patterned paper, and ribbon.
I first had to close up the bottom. To close it, cut a 2.5" circle. Cover the bottom and then use a strong glue to adhere the over hang. To make sure it was strong enough, after it dried I dropped a few pens in to see if it came apart.
Next add a handle using ribbon so it can hang. Again, use strong adhesive and test it.
Once this is dry you can decorate the outside of the tube. I used patterned paper, ribbon, and added some letter stickers. I kept my design to a minimum because I sometimes throw this in my bag when I go to crops so I didn't want flowers or anything tearing off.
My border organizer can hold about 50 borders. I go through it every now and again to purge things I won't use and give them to Willow but this is a great go to place when my project needs just a little extra something.
Today I decided to do a little purging since it was getting a bit full but instead of giving them to Willow or throwing them away, I decided to make a page.
